Αντώνης ΛΙΑΚΟΣ / Antonis LIAKOS

Ο Αντώνης Λιάκος γεννήθηκε το 1947 στην Αθήνα. Σπούδασε στη Φιλοσοφική Σχολή του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλονίκης. Στα 1969-73 φυλακίστηκε από τη δικτατορία. Πτυχιούχος στα 1977, συνέχισε με υποτροφία του Ι.Κ.Υ. και του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στην Ιταλία, διδακτορική διατριβή στη νεότερη και σύγχρονη ιστορία στο Α.Π.Θ. (1984). Δίδαξε στο Τμήμα Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας του Α.Π.Θ. (1981-1990). Επισκέπτης ερευνητής/καθηγητής στα Πανεπιστήμια Μπέρμιγχαμ, European University Institute (Φλωρεντία), Πρίνστον, Νέας Υόρκης, Σύντνεϋ, École normale supérieure (Παρίσι), Πανεπιστήμιο του Πεκίνου. Συνέβαλε στην ίδρυση του Ι.Α.Κ.Α. στο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας και συμμετείχε στο πρόγραμμα European Doctorate in the Social History of Europe. Από το 1990 καθηγητής της Ιστορίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Έχει διατελέσει μέλος της Εφορείας των Γ.Α.Κ., της Επιτροπής Ιστορίας της Εθνικής Τράπεζας, των Α.Σ.Κ.Ι., του Ιστορικού Αρχείου του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών. Είναι managing editor του περιοδικού Historein/Ιστορείν, πρόεδρος της International Commission for History and Theory of Historiography, διηύθυνε εκδοτικές σειρές Ιστορίας στις εκδόσεις Γνώση, Θεμέλιο και Νεφέλη. Την περασμένη δεκαετία υπήρξε μέλος των ερευνητικών ομάδων NHIST (Writing of National Histories in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Europe) και CLIOHRES.net (Creating Links and Innovative Overviews for a New History Research Agenda for the Citizens of a Growing Europe). Το ερευνητικό και συγγραφικό έργο αφορά τη νεότερη και σύγχρονη ιστορία και την ιστορία και θεωρία της ιστορίας. Έχει εκδώσει επτά μονογραφίες (από τις οποίες μία μεταφράστηκε στα ιταλικά και μία στα τουρκικά) και έχει δημοσιεύσει πενήντα μελέτες περίπου σε ελληνικά, αγγλικά, γαλλικά, ιταλικά επιστημονικά περιοδικά και ειδικούς τόμους. Αρθρογραφεί συχνά στον έντυπο και ηλεκτρονικό τύπο. Το 2012 έλαβε το Κρατικό Βραβείο Δοκιμίου για το βιβλίο του Αποκάλυψη, ουτοπία, ιστορία (Πόλις, 2011).

Antonis Liakos (1947) is Emeritus professor at the University of Athens (Department of History), chair of the Board of the International Commission for History and Theory of Historiography and managing editor of the historical review Historein. Research fellow and visiting professor at the University of Birmingham (1989), European University Institute (1995), University of Sydney (1995) University of Princeton (1996, 2006), Ecole Normale Superieure (2001), member of the Board of the European Doctorate in Social History (2005-2010), of the European Science Foundation network National Histories in Europe (NHIST), and of CLIOHRES.net (“Creating Links and Innovative Overviews for a New History Research Agenda for the Citizens of a Growing Europe”). He is also member of the Advisory Board of the Centre of Advanced Studies in Sofia, and of the Network for Theory of History.
